Field Supervisor Position

WCACP is seeking experienced educators to join our team as Field Supervisors. This role involves mentoring and evaluating new teachers to ensure their success during their intern year. Field Supervisors act as liaisons between WCACP and participating schools, providing guidance, support, and professional assessment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between WCACP, participating schools, and educators
  • Contact assigned candidates within the first three weeks of assignment (within one week for late hires)
  • Verify candidate's placement and ensure assignment of qualified mentor within first three weeks
  • Provide mentoring and support to intern teachers throughout their assignment
  • Conduct formal classroom observations (minimum of 45 minutes each) with pre- and post-observation conferences
  • Provide minimum of three informal observations (15+ minutes each) per semester
  • Evaluate lesson plans and provide constructive written feedback
  • Guide new teachers in reflective thinking and self-evaluation
  • Conduct orientations for intern teachers and cooperating teachers
  • Collaborate regularly with mentors, cooperating teachers, and campus administrators
  • Document and report any concerns related to school policies, professionalism, and instructional progress
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, principals, and WCACP staff regarding concerns and progress
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of all interactions and observations in the FS database

Required Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Educator Certificate in the state of Texas in the certification class for supervision
  • Minimum of three years of creditable teaching experience as defined by TEA
  • Accomplishment as an educator as shown by student learning
  • Cannot be employed by the same school where the candidate is completing their assignment
  • Must complete TEA-approved field supervisor training (renewable every 3 years) OR maintain valid T-TESS certification
  • Must be trained by WCACP as a field supervisor
  • Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate school visits
  • Proficiency in basic technology skills for documentation and communication

Compensation & Benefits

Per Visit Payment: $150
Average Time Commitment: 2-3 hours
Mileage Reimbursement: $0.67 per mile
